Mission

Girls Rock Camp Houston is dedicated to empowering girls and women of all backgrounds and abilities through musical education and creative expression.


Board of Directors

Mike Ator
Mike is a musician and songwriter with a lifelong passion for music. He also brings 12 years of nonprofit development experience to the GRCH table, and current works for Montrose Counseling Center to support the needs of Houston’s HIV/AIDS and GLBT communities.

Rachel Clarke
Rachel Clarke is very passionate about the education of young people. As a former social worker and bilingual teacher, she sees GRCH as the perfect vehicle for empowering the next generation of young women. Currently she is an assistant principal working in Houston’s Gulfton neighborhood and is the proud mother of a rockin’ 4 year old girl.

Marina Douenat
I’ve been privileged to practice law as a Trial Lawyer since 1997 and I am licensed in Texas state and federal courts. I was invited to join the Federal Public Defender’s Office in the Southern District of Texas in December of 2010. I’m a social activist of human rights especially women’srights, women’s peace politics, and interethnic and intercultural solidarity. 

Anna Garza, Executive Director
Anna has been involved with the local independent music scene as a member of the booking collective, Hands Up Houston, a fanzine editor, an independent show promoter and a musician.  She plays guitar in the all girl band, The Busy Kids, and bass guitar in Vivian Pikkles and the Sweethearts Über Alles.

Rosa Guerrero
Rosa M. Guerrero, 41, is a native Texan, born and raised on the gulf coast. She has co-hosted the Mutant Hardcore Flower Hour, Texas’ longest running punk radio show, on KTRU since 2007. Ms. Guerrero founded Ditchwater Records, a niche label that specializes in creating 7″ vinyl records of local rock and roll, in 2008. She has lived in Houston since 1988, where she currently works as a secretary and is mom to a nine-year-old bundle of boy.

Kevin Murphy
Kevin Murphy is an associate at the Houston law firm Frye & Associates, PLLC.  When he is not arguing in court he plays guitar for celtic rock band Murder the Stout. His best gig so far, however, is as the proud father of a GRCH camper.

Erin Rodgers
Erin Rodgers is an entertainment attorney with the Law Firm of Al Staehely, a Houston entertainment law firm. Erin also serves as the Staff Attorney for Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing artists and art-centered nonprofit organizations with free legal and accounting assistance. Aside from her law practice, Erin is also a classically trained clarinetist, and has performed with Dave Brubeck and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra as a vocalist. She has also played guitar and keys with various rock and folk bands.

Adam Weinstein
Adam Weinstein’s love for his daughters and rock music led him to Girls Rock Camp Houston.  He is passionate about exposing his kids to music, eating sustainable/local food, watching Longhorn football, and spending time by the water.  Originally from Canada, Adam moved here at the age of seven and grew up visiting many of Houston’s music venues.  Adam is a physician and lives with his wife Emily and two rockin’ daughters, Zoey and Jules.
