Don’t Be Afraid To Be Weird
Girls Rock Camp Houston’s 2010 debut went double platinum!
From August 9 – 13, 2010, 30 young girls formed six bands, wrote one original song and practiced the song every day until they performed it with their band in front of a sold out crowd at Walter’s on Washington on Sunday August 15, 2010. Some girls had musical experience while others never touched a real instrument ever. So goes the challenge of Girls Rock Camp Houston. Mixed in with instrument sectionals and band practice were workshops on body image, women’s music history, dance movement, silkscreening, rock wall climbing and guitar decorating / smashing. Not to mention the numerous and spontaneous dance parties.

We have until August 1 to meet our goal of raising $3000. Pledge now, pay later. Any pledge you make will not be cashed in UNTIL we meet or surpass our $3000 goal by August 1.
