Girls Rock Camp Houston is committed to doing everything we can to ensure we can continue bringing amazing programming and events to our campers in the wake of COVID-19. We do not require our campers or volunteers to wear masks at this time, but we strongly encourage mask use for those who are not vaccinated. Currently, we are taking the following measures to make camp as safe as possible. This is subject to change as more data and public health recommendations become available the closer we get to summer:
- Limiting camper registration to 50 slots
- Daily temperature checks at check-in and eating lunch socially distanced
- Increased hand hygiene (handwashing and sanitizing throughout camp)
- Daily sanitizing of all high-touch surfaces, e.g., gear, doorknobs, tables
- On-site nurse for our camp programming
- Ensuring that the following items are readily available:
- Masks
- Soap
- Hand sanitizer
- Tissues
- Disinfecting sprays
- Hand wipes
We are especially protective of our immunocompromised community members and trust/encourage each of our community members to protect themselves by doing whatever feels best for them. We can protect one another by staying home if you show any symptoms at all of COVID-19 (the most visible being a high fever and cough).
